Jinashi & Jimori — The Sound of Bamboo
Here, each shakuhachi for sale has been handcrafted by me with care to preserve the natural character of the bamboo. This rarefied approach is known as jinashi (地無し) and jimori (地盛り). Through these methods, the bamboo’s inner voice emerges with clarity and depth. Each piece of bamboo retains its individuality, so no two shakuhachi are alike. Free from lacquer coatings or inlays, my instruments place you in direct communion with the living material itself.
(NB: I’m still in the process of settling into my new home here in France. I expect to have shakuhachi for sale within the final quarter of this year, 2025.)
